Your Symbol of Strength

Archival Ink Prints ©CherilynSunRidge

Selecting your image of strength helps you stay in your seat of awareness.  As a reminder of your unique internal place, using external symbology creates your sacred living space.  Visual images carry a language into the subconscious, they are reference material for our minds, reminding us of our delights and innocent joys.  My mission is to offer what may serve you with land and figurative interpretations, as tethers, to dialogue with your own deepest truth.
I am now working with a high-end custom printer.  At long last (!) I can offer you quality prints to suit your budget.  Giclée printing is the highest quality fine art reproduction available today.

My online Print Portfolio offers a selection of my images.  Contact me for other custom sizes and I will send you a quote.  Also contact me for a custom print of your favorite piece not yet appearing in the Print Portfolio.

Sent with Light, Cherilyn

Enough For Everyone

“Enough For Everyone,” 30×40, Acrylic on Cotton, ©CherilynSunRidge

In love, She comes.  In love, She offers you your life.

She is everywhere and everyone.

She is at all times.
Our Lady is in everyone’s face and being.
We each hold a name for Her–all meaning:

beauty-filled, bountiful, compassionate.
All beings can participate, all beings may contribute.
This means also you and I, making resonance into the order of things.

She is your daily.  She gazes everywhere, and Her gaze is love, and Her love is a blessing, and the blessing is a healing, and the healing makes you whole, and your awareness gives you wholeness.

Internal Steps & External Steps

Find your internal geography and walk it, love it, applaud it.  Carry on to your edges and find your external geography and walk it, love it, applaud it.  “Seven Steps To Heaven” and
“Wind River Portal” offer scenes of contemplation for daily centering, grounding, and visioning.  You are invited and exquisitely able to grab one single ‘handle’ to navigate your day, helping you to conduct your thoughts and affairs with a bright, joyful, and expectant attitude.  Whatever your source of inspiration, whatever stirs your soul to life, use it and be grateful for its potency!

Souls With Voice

©Cherilyn SunRidge, “Forest Listening,” 24″x24,” Acrylic on Cotton Canvas

We listen, wherever we are, to chatter or rhythms or fantastic air -mobiles, and all sounds feed us.  Neither here nor there, neither wrong or right, sound injects into us and informs us.  Our voice, internal or external, influences the environment.  This is all a two-way, round-about, give and take, cause and effect.  I invite your treasured voice to sing out, your daily stutterings and your daily rejoicings to find their avenues of expression.  Why not?

Chaos, Order, Chaos, Order

I am re-reading Nick Bantock’s “The Forgetting Room.”  The pages are replete with short phrases, rich and deep, relevant to life and art.

One such provocation is the memory of the grandfather guiding the grandson as the lad worked to resolve an issue with his drawing.  He applied watercolor wash, yet it looked sugary to him, too nice.  From his memory bank, Grandfather speaks:

©Cherilyn SunRidge, “Dandelion,” & detail “Rain Drop Temple

“Chaos, order, chaos, order recurring …..there is a difference between a study and a painting.  Rough up the ground.  Then you can begin growing your picture……The result was a mess, though not an unpleasant one.  I ‘humphed’ aloud and deserted it to dry by itself.”

Just some insight into a painting process.  Now, I am headed into my painting cave!  Sending Light!  Cherilyn

Sage Mother Pushes Dawn

©CherilynSunRidge, “Sage Mother Pushes Dawn,” acrylic, 30×30, available

Each morning gives a moment of applause and a moment of review and unending moments of wonder and wondering. I select “Sage Mother Pushes Dawn” today to show you because of its strength. I love the “held” spheres, the absolute knowing that there is structure for my day, visible or not. I love the colors which were only viewed in the high country as tiny bits of desert hue, yet I wanted them to shout their presence.  May the backdrop of your life inform your day, and may you see anew what has always been before you.  “Sage Mother Pushes Dawn” is available in the Hoops portfolio at, always at my modest square inch price and always S&H included.  Stay lively!

Beltaine Comes

Beltaine is approaching, and Deer Fire just danced its way into manifestation.

©CherilynSunRidge, “Deer Fire,” Acrylic on Cotton, Gallery-wrap 1.5″ Painted Spice Brown, Available!

I offer the power of the hunt for your deepest soul-self through this work, with benediction from the Powers which you adore and revere and believe in, through this art piece.  Beltaine is a questing time, and in Nebraska we gifted and ran like the deer to elude our recipient–funny practice, and so darn fun and magical!

Please see more of my Masks at, and live into your dream through deep healing.

Kestrel Cry, masks portfolio

©CherilynSunRidge, “Kestrel Dancer,” acrylic, 30″x30,” gallery-wrap 1.5″ painted blueberry. Available. Click through to see the full piece.

“Kestrel Dancer” is another in my Mask series. I am ‘behind’ my self-suggested itinerary of having Masks coming to completion during the first quarter of this year. Kestrel Dancer needed to incubate; I turned it to the wall and went along with other things. Returning, my eyes were cleared and she magically had done her own dancing/flying/hovering/gazing into completion. We can all “look away” to see more clearly!

My post is called Kestrel Cry because I just read the words of Amy Runyen who wrote: “Art is more than a record of events and lives past; it is an existential cry and a testament to the creative human spirit. Each time new art is created, another spoke is added in the ever-turning wheel of art history.”  Existential calling-out, keeps me lively!

Trees for Thee

“Trees” is the theme of the Currents Gallery exhibit, in McMinnville, Oregon.  The artists’ interpretations were deep and insightful and entertaining.  I studied with a watercolor teacher in Monterey, California, decades ago, who spoke about the different shapes of trees, and my short-sighted 20-year old eyes were given new vision.  The two pieces accepted into this TREES show were painted in my northwest studio, from my memory visions of explorations in the San Juan Mountains, Colorado.  Hiking, sweating, singing, and crawling have usually made deep neurological imprints for my artistic library.

I am remiss in not knowing the credits for the other works seen on the gallery wall, boo.
I admire tree-painters–trees are difficult subjects to capture, to interpret, to give back life to on a flat canvas. I was in great company!

Weather Makers #How You Become You #contemporary american SW art

contemporary weather spirits

“Incubate the weather inside
Sustain the simmer
percolate the interaction of
unlabeled informants.

Entertain your ability to make change.

Form the form
held in the in-between.

Where two are gathered
Where two interact
Where two intend–
Cosmic forces agree to create.”

Organic Contemporary Rain Art

The Muse is afoot and a-flight as I revel in the northwest winter.  The La Lluvia show next autumn is already being painted out in my studio.  Showing you details of the new “Rain Drop Temple” lets me suggest to any art viewer in any venue, to step back and feel the emotion all the way up from your feet.  How do you respond to a piece of art?  And then visit the work up close and personal just to see from where the all-encompassing work comes.

See the whole piece at in the Masks Portfolio.
